The Hydrogen Road Tour 2008
The Hydrogen Road Tour rolled through South Carolina on August 16 and was greeted with much excitement and enthusiasm. More than 1,000 South Carolinians had the opportunity to experience hydrogen and fuel cell technologies first-hand and nearly 300 got the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a hydrogen vehicle. The Tour was organized by the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Energy, National Hydrogen Association, and the California Fuel Cell Partnership and highlighted the progress made with the development of hydrogen vehicle and fueling technologies. The South Carolina Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Alliance was the proud host of the Tour’s stops in the Upstate, Columbia and Aiken.
The Hydrogen Road Tour was the first of numerous exciting events leading up to the 2008 National Hydrogen Association Conference scheduled for March 30-April 3, 2009 in Columbia. In addition to industry activity, the conference will host an all-day ride and drive event, a Formula Zero hydrogen-powered high performance go-kart race, tours of the Columbia Fuel Cell District, educational events and several other energizing activities.
